Transcend's Cypass Implant
Transcend's Cypass Implant is an implantable device done at the time of cataract surgery for people with Open-Angle Glaucoma. The purpose of the stent is to help the Aqueous fluid drain from anterior chamber through the stent.
The micro-stent is introduced under the scleral spur, and into the supraciliary space. The Cypass implant is an investigational device that is being studied to see if it will lower pressure in the eye.
The clinic I work for is taking place in the study and we have been monitoring the IOP of these patients and have witnessed a remarkable drop in their IOP.
